Man killed by rogue wave fishing in Calabria

Man killed by rogue wave fishing in Calabria (ANSA) – Cosenza, December 2 – A 30-year-old man was swept away to his death by a rogue wave that hit him and an older companion while fishing at a Calabrian river mouth Monday.

A policeman dived into the sea from a patrol boat and pulled both men to shore but the younger man had already drowned. The second man, 53, was said to be in reasonable condition in hospital.
