Ejecting Berlusconi ‘the right thing to do’ says PD chief
(ANSA) – Rome, November 27 – Democratic Party (PD) chief Guglielmo Epifani on Wednesday said the Senate vote to eject convicted ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi was the right thing to do.
“The Senate did its duty and applied the law. Anything else would have been the law of the jungle,” the party secretary said.
“Those who cry coup and threaten disaster are choosing the road of adventure”, he added.
The centre-left PD of Premier Enrico Letta and the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) were the main backers of Berlusconi’s ejection.
