The Fukang meteorite was discovered in Fukang, Xinjiang, northwestern China, in 2000. Cutting the Fukang meteorite open yielded a breathtaking sight – within the rock, translucent golden crystals of a mineral called olivine gleamed among a silvery honeycomb of nickel-iron.
